Article/post to give to friends/docs that explains this?

I'm tired of explaining what I'm going through, and frankly can't think clearly enough to explain it well anyway. Is there a go-to post/sticky that'd be useful for this?

I'm not aware of anything, but that's a good project.  Maybe we can find a way to express our situation in a way that a person would be willing to hear it.  Probably couldn't be more than 30-40 words given human attention spans, and couldn't be negative (people don't like bad news).

This is more or less what I told people who asked.

I had a bad reaction to a drug that my doctor gave me.  My sleep is taking a big hit, so I'm kind of tired and spaced out.  I'm sure I'll be fine in a few.

I felt that people could associate with this, and it ended on a positive.

T1D, this is a 2 minute 50 second scientific video explaining it.  I agree with the last post in re to too many people's short attention spans.  Re those intolerant of reality, they aren't your friends anyhow.

anyone ever ask 'which drug' or push with more questions ? or was it like when people ask 'how are you'? (they really don't know and don't care as long as the answer is short lol)

i think i know too many people who would ask more questions - and then go on to dismiss it, minimizeit, ...it or me...etc.. (maybe it's just the people i know) ?<shrug>?

Nobody really cared which drug, but if they asked, I would tell them.  I'd answer whatever they asked, but usually in just a word or two.  I didn't try to invite a lengthy discussion.

Yes, it was more like a "how are you" type of interaction.  People are dismissive due to ignorance, but I don't mean to make it sound like they are 'bad' people.  Most people don't know what to do with that kind of information.  They have little or no grasp of the subject.  It doesn't connect with prior knowledge.  They don't know what to say.  So they dismiss it.

I tried to give them something that they could understand -> poor sleep.  People could connect/understand/accept that.  Then we could move onto something else.

Well put Bad, and good game plan. Insightful.
