Post Nasal Drip or Extreme Allergy's

If Insomnia was not bad enough latley I been getting worse and worse coughing/hacking at night, I get alot of long winded coughs too, I went to dr the other day to take allergy tests, it gets worse at night, could not sleep last night at all, 3 hours tossing and turning clearing throat and coughing every 10 seconds....its ANNOYING, this crap happens every night and gets worse, I don't cough up nothing and Dr told me my lungs sounded fine, so whatever this is happens every damn day and more potent at night which is why I can never get comfortable

I have had more than one long lasting coughs since starting my taper and I can't help but think they are related.  Using a neti pot helped some.  It's kind of like the cough would become a habit and it was hard for my body to stop doing it every night.  I got some prescription cough medicine that had an opioid in it, but the last time I tried to use it, I had a terrible reaction to it and I'm not going to be taking any opioids any time soon after that.

 

The thing that really really helped me was vicks' vapor rub.  That was the thing that finally allowed me to sleep and within a week stop coughing alltogether.
