Xanax free since late January for the first time in 10 years

I was addicted to Xanax and Ambien for a decade starting exactly 10 years ago. In the last couple of years I started buying them on the street. In January I starting withdrawing - I'd done it several times on my own, and this time I just couldn't tolerate the symptoms and knew that I might die. I went to detox for the first time ever and rehab straight after. Now I'm doing outpatient treatment. I don't ever want to take Xanax again but I did relapse on Ambien about a month ago. Every day is a struggle for sobriety, but I've had my successes too. I thought I'd never be able to handle anxiety without Xanax. I practice Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to learn how to manage my emotions.

You've had quite a journey, and are victorious already just to have made it this far!  I hear great things about DBT.  It will really give you the tools to have a beautiful life.  Best wishes to you.  :smitten:
