Hi!  It is now 12 1/2 weeks of my being totally off all my psych meds and my symptoms just seem 2 be getting worse day by day, minute by minute and I am getting virtually no sleep at all due 2 the burning, tingling, numbness, vibrations throughout body and head, adrenaline surges, myoclonic jerks, dp/dr., etc.

Is it possible 4 someone 2 go totally insane from the constant lack of sleep due to the horrendous, debilitating and painful w/d symptoms from these poisons.  I constantly feel like I am living in a nightmare that I can't wake up from.  I am just barely functioning at the present time and fear I will end up spending the rest of my life locked up in a psych ward filled full of these poisons which never worked 4 me.

Please, I would appreciate any feedback I can get on this situation before I totally lose my mind.  Thank u.

Needhelp1,

Interesting because I was in your spot, asking the same question.  I'm 13 months off Xanax, and 8 months off benzos total (didn't know I was on Phenibut from a "natural health supplement."  From my experience, the worst part of what you are describing is that your brain is making things out to be worse than they are.  Let me try to encourage you- you know when you were "normal" and not in withdrawal... well, if you had a bad day, a lot of stress, and hadn't slept, you'd feel pretty crappy.  Really crappy, actually.  But, amidst benzo withdrawal, three things make a difference here.  One, you know you're in benzo withdrawal.  This always makes everything more difficult because we worry, we brood over things, etc.  Two, you've been suffering for a while.  Even if we have a good day symptoms wise, just thinking about our situation could make things worse.  Our perception changes it.  Three, part of the withdrawal is being in a constant state of hyper-excitability.  So, even when you feel "better," you're still not officially relaxed.  All things factors make things worse than they are.  It's like when you're in a wave, you can't remember what better felt like.  At all.  And you wonder if you're dying or something worse is happening.  It's not.  It's just withdrawal.  You're going to be fine.  Be kind to yourself.  Take one day at a time and make sure that you do everything you can to facilitate your healing.  And then, "relax."  I really mean that.  Not in a physical sense, nor in a chemical sense... but minute by minute- "I'm okay, I'm going to make it.  THIS IS NORMAL."  If you realize that it's normal for what is going on, then it's not as bad.  It's normal because you're healing.  Your body is doing what it needs to.  Your job is to live as healthy as you can and trust the process.  I'm a Christian and I'm not going to try to push this on you, but there's a Bible verse that says that we "live by faith for faith..."  What it means is that faith is a never ending thing until it is brought to fruition.  You have faith that you are healing, a bad wave or symptom pops us, you doubt, and you must exercise faith again.  From faith, for faith.  Faith is the rule of life, whether you are a Christian or not.  You have faith that as you type, the words come on the screen, or you wouldn't type it.  That came to fruition.  Your healing will too, so you must keep believing and have faith.  From faith.  For faith.  You're doing great!
