People make a joke out of your condition.

 

Try to compare a 2 week spell off sadness they experienced to what you are going through.

 

Tell you to snap out of it.

 

Force you to do things that they think will help you heal.

 

Say you need to spend more time with people.

 

Force you to eat and drink all kinds of processed foods.

 

Tell you that you over thinking and should stop Google.

 

And the list goes on....

 

In their defence they don't understand and never will. I get very tired trying to explain. So I accept it and continue. I cannot wait to heal.

Its totally awful. I'm 26 and its been 2 years I can't function normaly, I'm actually depedant on my mom and she doesn't understand our state. She tells me I do nothing for years and it stressed me even more

This is such a key, and it's so good to know early in recovery. Accept the things you cannot change. And the general public's understanding and lack of compassion are a key part to accept. Maybe someday they'll know and look at us with wonder, but until then, hold fast and carry on.
