Yesteday I went to the ER for my head pain & vertigo

& they gave me a headache cocktail which included Benadryl

I slept (broken sleep) like 12 hours

However this morning when I woke up for work

Nothing felt real

Like I wasn't in my house or in my body

Feels like I have tunnel vision

I'm terrified to drive right now

Could Benadryl do this or send me in a bad wave?

I tried taking Benadryl ro get some sleep and I had dp/dr so bad I couldn't feel any emotion or even anxiety really..it was like a numb void like my soul was sucked out. Felt like I wasn't me and was watching things through a screen instead of my eyes. I learned Benadryl is something I can no longer take going through this. It faded away after a day for me. I learned my lesson though. We all have sensitivities to things now...I think you just found one of yours.

Yes !! Exactly what you just wrote , EVERYTHING you just described is how I feel right now. I can't even cry I hate this!

Thank you for letting me know I'm not the only one !

Oh my goodness.  I have never heard of this from benadryl.  I don't doubt it can happen though.

Benedryl totally does this. It's well documented. I've been taking about 12.5 a night to help me sleep because I can't otherwise. It's nasty stuff. I wish I never took it. I almost think I am dependent on t so I've tapering down.

Drink lots of water and do some light excersize like walking around the block for a while. It will be out of your system within 24, so don't worry!

It seems to me that you're going to ER for every one of your symptoms. If there is a cure for benzo withdrawal, I guess that someone would already let us know. Taking any pharmaceutical pill is very risky in my opinion while we have damaged endocrine and nervous system.

Try to accept your condition, forget about doctors and let your body heal itself. You are only 1 month off and your symptoms are pretty much common for benzo withdrawal.

I hope your dp disappears soon.
