How long should a taper take for .375 mg of clonazepam?

Have been taking 1 mg lorazepam a day for about 7 years.  Recently took a jump down to .5mg a day for a month then was switched to .5mg clonazepam 2x daily, but felt that was too heavy and successfully moved to clonazepam at .375 mg a day. .125 in am and .25 in pm.  Feel much better and stable at this level, almost human.  Seem to have got rid of interdose problems I had with lorazepam.  Question is how long will should a taper take?  Don't want to rush and try to be as comfortable as possible so I could function.

Thanks

Travis - I was on clonazepam (.5mg once daily) for 8 months and then decided to try 10% reductions every 10 days. I started the taper on 8/25/2017 and I'm currently at .364mg once daily (give or take). I'm accomplishing this by pill shaving/gram scale accurate to .001 grams. Taper has gone relatively well thus far, with some increased anxiety/depression (manageable) and occasional slight headaches.

I'm a tapering newbie - and I can't say what's right for you or anyone else, obviously. But on my current schedule, I'll be down from .364mg to .05mg in a bit over 6 months. I'll then either jump from .05mg or use liquid (either prescription or a DIY solution/suspension) to do 4-5 day micro-tapers down to .02mg before jumping.

So, if you want to follow a similar schedule, it would take roughly 6-7 months to taper down from your current dose. You've been taking benzos longer than I have, so it could be that smaller cuts (as small as 5%) and/or longer stages (up to 14 days or so) may be in order. I think your body/mind will let you know what's right.

As a final note, I've found that I can take clonazepam 1x daily without needing to break it into two doses. Of course, I've always only taken it once per day, and from what I understand clonazepam is not quite long-acting enough to be effective for 24 hours. Do with that what you will.

Hope it helps

<sigh>  It seems like that myth will never die.

With a couple of exceptions (librium and midzolam) benzos are not water soluble!!

The can be dissolved in a solvent, like vodka or propylene glycol, then diluted with water,m but they can NOT be effectively dissolved in water.

I started my taper from 1mg clonzepam at 0.125mg a time which is a quarter of a pill every two weeks. Had a couple of rough days at a time but carried on till i got down to 0.25mg.  Was only then till i suffered bad withdrawals. I am now cutting 1/8 of a pill every two weeks so end of this week will be down to 0. 125mg. I was on it since Dec 2016.
