Hello everyone

I am 24 years old my name is Nick

I was prescribed klonopin 2mg for 2 years and was forced to cold turkey May 13th 2017

I have been employed they entire time even though I shouldn't have been but my father owns the company so I was blessed that I still have the job.

The first two months were nothing short of hell on earth I didn't think that level of mental pain and fear existed as well of physical pain. I truly thought that I was a goner. I  now have 4 months free and have seen a lot of healing but the mental symptoms still lingering and some very upsetting. the physical stuff pops up sometimes as well.

Looking forward to being a part of the community.

Hello, nicky123go - Welcome to BenzoBuddies!

Congratulations on  becoming bento-free.  It sounds as though you have come through the acute phase of withdrawal.  Cold turkey is daunting and it's remarkable that you have been able to continue to work.

I'm so glad you decided to join the forum - you'll find plenty of information and support here. Our members have gone through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal, so you'll be able to connect with others who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them.

I also went through benzo withdrawal from a cold turkey and have been benzo free so I understand some of the issues you are facing.  I find this community to be very supportive.

Please feel free to post to any of the specialized boards, which can all be accessed from the BenzoBuddies Community Forum homepage. Based on the information provided in your introduction, the following links may be a good starting place for you:

If you have not already done so, , I highly recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery, authored by Dr. C. Heather Ashton, who is an expert in the field. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations on the reasons for their existence.

Again, welcome!

Cold turkey is brutal.  Glad things have improved, but sorry you are still suffering so.

Thank you all, it was very brutal and I guess I never realized how strong I was being going to work every day while having intense physical and mental symptoms. Things have got better from that phase of withdrawal I'm grateful on so many levels. Just wish I knew that I am on the right track. I still feel very depressed at time and I think the proper term is adehonia . I feel disconnected and flat. no emotions its like I'm in limbo. I have full windows where all of that clears up and I am instantly on the phone making plans laughing feeling on top of the world but then I get crashed back down into hell and it almost seems like since I get those breaks that the withdrawl is worse when a window ends.  Thank you

I am 3 months into 4mg Clonazapam a day withdrawl.  You didn't mention insomnia, I had that for 2.5 mo. I'm also experiencing moments of joy followed by blah. I'm planning a trip out of town this Thurs and am petrified. Were you happy before quitting.  I was, was not my idea to cold turkey. New Doctor, new rules. I'm hoping life gets better in a hurry. I hate the person this has turned me into. Best of luck and I hope life gets better for you quickly.
