Menthol cough drop

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever been set off by a menthol cough drop before? I just had a really bad cold and ate like 20 of those things over the past month. I don't know if it caused a reaction or not because I am already in an opiate setback as it is.

Hi Dingle,

Not exactly the same, but my husband can't tolerate menthol right now. Just one minute sucking on a cough drop or one whif of a menthol inhaler will cause him to get short of breath and panicky. In the past, he would rely on these for his allergies, but menthol is just far too strong for his sensitive CNS right now.
