Last week I slept well. On Friday night, I slept a good eight hours. The first time I've done that in years. :smitten: Sunday I decided to do a taper and boom. I slept perhaps 30 minutes or less. Ditto for Monday. Tuesday I did manage to fall asleep for a couple throughout the night. Last night, nothing. I am so tired and stressed by this all. I cannot take any supplements or antihistamines, as I just lie awake feeling stranger, if that is possible. I'm getting closer to the end, but with that being said, I still have a ways to go before I can jump. Thanks for listening! :-[

Sleep is so fickle during withdrawal.  I'm sorry for those long nights you have to endure.  Just try to relax and not stress.  I did a lot of web work at 3 am.  Sometimes I'd get so bored with it that I'd actually doze off.

You are getting close.  You've done a great job with your taper.  I know you're tired, but you're going to make it!

badsocref, thanks for the reply. Positive comments help a lot. It really does help to hear success stories, though I try not to binge on them or I start feeling a bit overwhelmed.

You actually put your insomnia to good use doing webwork. Dozing off was a plus too. I decided if I got up, I for sure would not sleep, so I keep a book by my pillow and read. Yawning starts, I put the book down, insomnia still there. Repeat.

No one said this would be easy.

I didn't get up.  I just opened up my laptop and worked.  I know - bad sleep hygiene.

Like you, I'd sometimes start feeling really dozy, close the laptop, put it down, roll over and...  be wide awake again.

As you said, Repeat!

badsocref, sleeping with our computers probably isn't the best thing, but my mantra is, whatever helps. I tried listening to relaxing music on my computer, next to the bed, but it really didn't work as well as I hoped it would. Last night, I slept more. Good thing, as yesterday, I was a zombie. Today I feel more human.

I bought a pillow speaker and used it for a while.  I plugged it into either my computer or phone and would listen to quiet meditative music or guided meditations.  I'm glad you had a decent sleep last night.  I just got two decent nights following four lousy nights.

badsocref, the pillow speaker sounds like a great idea. I'll try that. My only distraction is a box fan that only works when I can force myself to focus on the sound. That's not been happening a lot lately. Thanks for your responses!

I take this for insomnia Phenergan 50 mg Melatonin maximum dose and alimemezin liquid 1,5 ml. Sleep like a baby...13 hours last night

Thanks sundanceshaman, I've tried Melatonin, but it didn't help my insomnia. The other two you mentioned, I will look up and perhaps give them a try. Tylenol PM works okay for one night, but then I have to take a break away from it for a while. It's frustrating!

The last week I read a lot of posts and have so many mixed emotions about taking supplements and otc meds to help me sleep. My goal/wish/dream/desire is to be free of benzos and anything else that I must rely on to sleep every night. I've been down that road and it was my worst nightmare come true. Clonazepam took almost 20 years of my life away from me that I can never ever get back.  I feel my brain is healing and I am feeling better than I have felt since benzos entered my life. I always am glad for suggestions and ideas  to help me on this journey for I have the choice as to what I will do,  :smitten:
