Hi, I am 49 yrs old in Ohio. I have had depression, ADD, anxiety and Insomnia for many years. I have tried many medications over the years and the current sleep med I take is Triazolam AKA Halcion I believe. I started at 0.25 mg but was not effective so now on 0.50. It helps me sometimes but I am doing things whilst asleep that I have no memory of. On a recent vacation something really bad happened but I do not remember everything and now my children will not talk to me, nor will a couple family members.

I can not get any sleep without it but even on it my sleep is erratic and I have frequent wakenings. I have tried skipping some nights and it is no sleep unless I take them. I am scarred of the things I am doing when I take them, this includes sending emails, cooking meals, eating and who knows what else.

I got out of compliance on my meds, I take over 30 including creams and supplements. I have been experiencing extreme anxiety and depressed episodes wanting to die, abused inhalants, anger and rage outbursts and everything inbetween. I have been having extreme pain all over and no energy, feeling exhausted all the time.

Some of my other meds include Gabapentin, Norco and Adderall.

Could I be experiencing some adverse effect from my meds and going into some kind of withdrawal that could cause extreme anger and rage. I even drove drunk 3 times. I sometimes add alcohol to try and take the edge of how I feel. My last episode of huffing butane lighter refill gas was 2 nights ago.

Hello, Nobody :) - welcome to BenzoBuddies!

It's pretty scary when the drugs cause you to do things in an essentially blacked-out state. It's sometimes hard to know where to begin when coming off of several drugs, but having been on both Ativan and Adderall at the same time, I personally believe it's best to taper off the Adderall first, because if you're still on an amphetamine during a benzo taper, you're going to have a really tough time sleeping. This is a great place to sort that out and begin your withdrawal and recovery.

The Ashton Manual is an authoritative resource on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations.

For those who are currently tapering, a starting guideline is that the dosage not be reduced faster than by 5-10% every 10-14 days - some taper even more slowly than that. One exception: very short-term users of a few weeks or less may be able to taper somewhat faster
