Why do we get this? Why does it race sometimes, then it doesn't? Should I get it checked? Love K

It's a symptom of anxiety and panic, but if you are worried about it being something worse, please get it checked.  It's a very common withdrawal symptom though, one of THE most common actually.

megan is right.  I suffered these for a LONG time - but now can't recall when I last had one.  :)

Even if I'm not panicking? Thank you:)

Yes.  My palpitations often happened "out of the blue," but there was nothing wrong with my heart.

Heart symptoms were the worst of all for me. Hospitalised 4 times in cardiac unit. But it's much better now! Get your heart checked out so you can be calmer when they happen but benzos do have a huge impact in this area. Good luck, I feel for you.

I get these all the time even if I am relatively calm. I think it's normal.

I have them almost constantly. I know because I had my heart checked. 1500 dollars later they tell me you are having almost constant heart palps. No kidding I say LOL. Anyway they are benign which means they will never kill me. My Cardioligist says is it from w/d. Recently they are starting to abate. I hardly notice them anymore but if you are really concerned please get your heart checked.

Hello, I am 14 months out from CT and just recently have developed heart palpitations and dizziness.  I was recently diagnosed with Lyme and on Doxycycline for a month, started the heart palpitations last week on Doxy and they continue, not sure if it is a Lyme symptom or a WD  symptom....had an EKG and it was normal.....

Hi Klono,  I have four cats and even found ticks in my bath water.  I was bitten behind my knee of all places and then developed a fever and horrible pain in both legs that was diagnosed as a problem with my Sciatic nerves....I continued with the low grade fever and basically all of my wd symptoms just kept getting worse....the Doxy initially helped but about the third week it made me feel miserable....the heart palps developed then and I have been off the Doxy for over two weeks and still get them but I do notice that they seem to be worse when I am under stress, or stressed.  Of course, having the palps is a stress issue so I try to chill out when they appear in the hopes that they will go away.  Yesterday, all day, and they were awful, today nothing!  It is hard not to be generally stressed while dealing with Benzo WD.  My Lyme test was the Western Blot and I supposedly was "acute".......I have another post as my doctor has recommended that I take Buspar for my stress as it doesn't bind with the Gaba Receptors....I am hoping someone will answer my posting as I am afraid to take anything as I fear it will make things worse.  Hugs to you.  Spazzie :'(
