Started my taper at 5mg Valium Sept. 1

First post on here. Started my taper Sept 1. 5mg daily. Down from 7.5mg for August. Which is down from as needed doses of 10mg for the past 6 months. I am perplexed that my days are much more difficult than my nights. The nausea is rough. Food has to be forced down. Then by 7:00 pm I just seem to eat until I go to sleep. Which has been pretty good thus far. I find that  awaken much earlier now. Still getting 6-8 hours of sleep nightly. Head pressure, low energy, anxiety, you know the usual. Planning to stay at this cut through the end of the month, hoping to stabilize before my next cut. Hoping.

Got of of opioids 7/5/2016. With the help of Suboxone. Which I did quickly. This I am realizing and reading, will take much longer......I am thinking titration is my best bet? Or asking? Any suggestions for help with the nausea? Lastly. 200mg daily of Wellbutrin for depression. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Wow, congratulations on your progress!  What do you eat after 7 pm?  Your a huge inspiration!

Thanks. Vegetarian dinner usually. Lots of veggies, fruit. Try avoid sugar as much as possible. Recovery meetings 3-4 night a week. Which helps too. More support!

That's awesome just awesome.  Are you getting enough Potassium, magnesium, folate and healthy fats?  What kind of veggies and fruit do you typically eat.  I'm really excited to meet you!

I am going to to try to taper .5mg every 2 weeks until i jump off at .5mg. We will se how it goes.......

Hi, Slave, I have a similar thing going on.  I cut 4 days ago (ativan, from .5 to .3, probably too big a cut) and I am nauseated during the day with head pressure, metal taste in mouth, burning feeling in my throat, chest pressure.  Then after about 6 pm I could eat a horse.  So I try to take advantage of that window and get good nutrition into my body. 

 

What helps with the nausea?  Well, for me, I find plain yogurt does the trick for me.  I eat it for breakfast, sometimes with a teaspoon of honey and some berries mixed in.  I buy the simplest, best yogurt I can.  It seems to coat my stomach enough.  I can get a good cup of it down.  I have been off coffee and tea now for months.  I stay as hydrated as I can - that helps with the headaches.

Tension Tamer tea helps with my nausea and a piece of toast or a bagel. Something to coat the stomach.
