Don't cut Clonazepam Orally Disintegrating Tablets

I contacted PAR Pharmaceutical and said I started having withdrawals after Walgreens changed over to their products. I asked about cutting their tabs. This was their reply:

 

"Cutting/Crushing/Splitting of Clonazepam Orally Disintegrating Tablets are not FDA approved administration. Therefore, Par does not guarantee the safety and efficacy of the product if use outside of the FDA-approved administration."

 

And I was making cuts trying to taper.

 

I wrote back and told them that I can hold their tabs in my mouth for 45 minutes and they don't dissolve. I told them that the tabs from the previous manufacturer dissolved in about 30 seconds. And to get theirs to dissolve I have to "crush" them against the roof of my mouth. Now I know why I have been so sick. I knew there was something wrong.

I sent the email just before I posted this thread so it will be a while before I receive an answer.

Just FYI... It seems a few people are having problems with brand/manufacturer  changes recently..

Both stronger and weaker... Obviously you will have to determine if this is your situation for yourself...

I've heard this before about the orally disintegrating tablets.  You can use them for titration.
