Hi all, i am new in the forum. Let me introduce myself. I am 34 years old female, a doctor :(. I started use bromazepam in 2010. Slowly i started to increase my dose. I could take 7 pills 3 mg each and can function. Most of the time i had took 3 pills daily. I tapered quickly and my last dose was on 20 march 2017. Now i am almost 6 months off. And feel exhausted and desperate. I want to ask few questions. If i can remeber thinks like before and if i will loose weight. I need your support to go on.

Welcome to the forum! We're glad  to have you as a new member.  At six months off, it's not unusual to still have significant symptoms, especially after a fast taper.  This will improve, and your memory will get better.  As far as weight loss, I can't say.  I'm still struggling with that myself.

You'll find lots of information and support here.  Our members have been through all aspects of withdrawal, and you're likely to find  people who understand what you're going through.

For those who are starting a new taper, we suggest reducing no faster than 5-10% every 10-14 days at first, and then adjusting the taper rate to suit your own needs.  One exception: very short-term users of a few weeks or less may be able to taper faster.  Having some withdrawal symptoms is normal, especially near the end of a taper and for a few months after discontinuing the medication.  First/only withdrawals after a slow taper tend to be easier than multiple reinstatements/withdrawals over time, which may make symptoms worse and longer lasting. The most common symptoms are anxiety and insomnia, but there are many others. These are temporary and will go away in time.

Here are a few links you may find useful:

Post Withdrawal Support Board

The Ashton Manual is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery.  Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field. Section III explains and describes symptoms, and there is also a section with suggested taper schedules.

Please take the time to Create a Signature.  This will allow others to see where you are in the process so they can better support you.

Again, welcome!

Hi Yulitka83 ,

Although it seems almost impossible but 6 months off is really not very long when it comes to healing from benzos.

People do start to feel a bit better at 6 months but it seems the majority on here require 8 months to 18 months to be back to normal.

I would agree with this, and it takes everyone different time frames for the brain and body to

reset itself...it does ..... slowly over time,

I found three steps forward then two back seemed to be how I found it all...

we are all different too...

Glad your off, and things will return to normal, so there is hope..

.read the success stories they can inspire that hope often...
