I'm sorry you are effected by this. Midazolam is Versed. It is a benzo used to sedate.  They could have given you Propofil, non benzo. I don't know if it will cause any lasting effects. This was the anesthesia that started my problems in 2003. I didn't know it then. I hope you recover from it fast. Maybe it will wear off in a few days.  :'(

Cortisone injection..Short procedure using anesthesia, Midazolam (Versed). Side effects were major bladder issues and anxiety I never had in my life.. I had cortisone other times without anesthesia with no issues at all. It could have been the combination. Dr thought Ativan would calm bladder, another benzo. Second mistake. I was desperate so I took it. Didnt help and I got worse. Didn't realize both were benzos and drugs that I couldn't take. I would have recovered from Versed had I never taken Ativan. You should be ok in a while. Midazolam is generally well tolerated.

Hi Lodast,

In the last five years, I've had two colonoscopies as well as major abdominal surgery.  I believe midazolam was used all three times, and I know it was used for the surgery.  I was highly anxious about these procedures, especially the surgery which was for a potentially life-threatening condition, so I didn't even think to question them about what they'd use to sedate me.  The good news is, my healing wasn't affected all, as far as I can tell. There was no uptick in symptoms. I've also recovered completely from the surgery and am in good health now.

So, please don't assume you've gone through the last 14 months for nothing.  That's not the case.  Your healing will continue, hopefully with no setbacks.
