Im on week 3 since stopping valium. I was on 2.5mg for 1 year. I have constant vertigo. I can hardly walk. Is this normal? I can varely look after my baby. Will i be like this forever? Ive taken stematil and serc and its not helping at all.

I cant continue much longer like this. I took a rescue dose of 2.5mg last week and even that didnt help. Starting to think this 8snt withdrawal related?

Did you just Cold Turkey that from using 2.5 mg every day ? No taper ? Not even leaving a day in between and doing a day on and off ? If you can answer yes to most of these questions I can easily believe you have constant vertigo and can hardly walk and yes it would be totally and absolutely normal.    :idiot:

Yes to all. I did go to my dr and he said i could  not be in withdrawal or addicted.

Should i take one evry second day for a while? Or is it to late?

1. NO of course not but you basically did a Cold Turkey. That would be too much for anyone and bring anyone on his or her knees.

2. It IS withdrawal related, don't you worry about that one.

No, It's not too late to reinstate a small dose every other day so you can stabilize and go easy on yourself and do a slow taper if you feel like you're in danger and it's really getting too much for you. Once you feel a bit better you won't have to taper much and in the meanwhile you could get back control over yourself your life and your baby. Might be a good idea what you just said and asked. I mean if you say you can hardly walk and have extreme vertigo. Don't put yourself in danger over some stupid pills if you feel it's really getting out of control. A dose as little as 2 mg every other day in your case could be a lifesaver and when you're ready you can taper and get off really easily. But now you did a Cold Turkey and this is just how it goes with Valium after 3 weeks it hits you. It's really up to you. It's your decision but most of the time these Cold Turkey's don't run very well. I think if you took 2.5 mg every day it's still a major jump because Valium builds up in the body, that's why you feel like this after 3 weeks. Take care. Do what you think suits you best.

Thank you so much for your helpfull reply.  My problem is that i only have 5mg tablets and i cant seem to get them any smaller than 2.5mg. My doctor wont prescribe me 2mg because he doesbt believe i have an addiction. Do you know of anyway that i could get 2mg out of 2.5?

Hi,

You can go to the "Titration Taper Plans" board and ask advice from a member named "builder". He's very knowledgeable and can recommend the smoothest way to make reductions. Best to you.

I wanted to write this post to say a big thank you to all of you for your advice. I decided to take my normal dose of 2.5mg for 2 days and have now liquid tapered to 2mg.

I feel much much better. Vertigo is no where near as bad.

Your help and advice literally saved my life. I was in an extremely dark place.

Peace :)
