I have no energy to carry out normal tasks that I am not moving. I have gone to the gym when I could but I have seen to hit a real rough patch. It seems as if eating is actually something I can do so I'm almost just happy to accomplish something. (Showering as well) anybody have any tips for curbing appetite during this process? I don't eat a lot of junk at all but in this state I'm just trying to get through the day. This is so awful.... I just have to believe that we do heal and get better because I'm not sure how long I can do this. I definitely don't want to be on these evil pills but I even miss the bad days when I was on the pills because I could at least function. The sensations and balance issues are so scary.

Wow I gained so much weight during my taper. And then in the three weeks following my jump I lost 20lbs. It'll all level out eventually.

There are many ways to curb cravings and hunger. The one that works for me the most is taking my time with a meal. Chewing the meal at around 15+ bites depending on the portion and drinking water as well as spacing each bite, try that out, it should help a lot. It will give your stomach enough time to tell your mind if you have had enough. If you over eat, you will instantly crave food after an hour. Exercising is tough, but you don't need to be running or lifting weights to lose weight. Just go for a walk at an enjoyable pace and a distance that isn't too hard on you.

When I was tapering and in early recovery I ate anything and everything.  Not sure why, it just seemed like it was uncontrollable.  Others who were tapering with me said the same thing.  I had already gained 30 pounds in ten years on Xanax.  I probably added another 10 during my taper and recovery.

It may be something to do with dopamine.  I really don't know.  But I do know appetite is affected by this.  Some people have horrible nausea and can't eat.  Some are the opposite.

My weight gain didn't drop off.  I'm dealing with it now, five years later, in the typical 'protein shake diet' way.  Fifteen pounds down, twenty to go.

I've been trying to gain weight for years.  For me, Klonopin caused massive weight loss.  I'm still about 20 lbs. underweight.  I did find out that I was low in Vitamin D and supplementing with it has improved my appetite some.
