Is it normal when tapering off valium to feel very confused and lost and also overthinking it's happened so quickly.i am very confused now.

Yes.  It is extremely common to feel very confused and to overthink everything and to feel confused.

I was just coping then I had alot of stress and was hanging around this old guy that I thought was helping me for 2months then I realised he was only using me to take him every where and he was playing mind games with me I kept going there cause I was scared and lonely.it was dragging me down and I put my recovery on the back burner.anyway I've just broke contact with him.i was tapering 1mg a month but last 2weeks dropped  0.5 I'm down to 12.5 mg of val.i know I can't change what's happened but I came off 15mg years ago and been on 5mg 10years but they took me off too quick and put me up to 15mg 3 months ago I'm angry with myself for listening to them.now I feel more messed up then I've ever been was recovering good last few years now mentally ba k at square one.i shouldn't have trusted the drs.

You're wise to break off with the guy who was using you. We need to be jealous with our time and energy and who we spend time with. You're also wise to be your own best advocate and be suspicious of the MDs. So few of them understand benzo tolerance and withdrawal. Such a tough school of hard knocks.
