Very, very interesting. Thanks so much, liberty! It's scary knowing this, but then again we see it all the time (that is, if we go to the doctors a lot, which I do) - absolute denial. I don't want to be labeled as "non-compliant" or a bad patient due to speaking out too much, so I say nothing anymore. Talking out before led to silence, disbelief. I got the message. I think a lot of us are in agreement with that. I just want to go in, do whatever the nurse or doctor needs, and get the hell out of there. But I have to hear negativity along the way. Too bad I couldn't plug my ears.

 

Protection. Self-interest. Risking someone's life for a fellow physician's reputation. Fear of being blacklisted by others if doctors say anything. There is a code of silence going on.

 

I just want so much to be healthy again so I wouldn't have to see doctors so much! I met a man who was dependent on benzos, who, in the process, was labeled as bipolar, who got off all his pills. At the time I knew him, he hadn't seen a doctor in 10 years. Although I cannot do that, I can see where he was coming from, definitely.
