I woke up this morning and the screeching in my head was at such a volume that I was thinking that I had enough. So I took a morning dose of 700MGs of gabapentin. Went to dunkindoughtnuts and got a large turbohot. (A large hot coffee with a shot of espresso) and laid down on the couch for a while just concentrating on my breath. The horrible sound turned into a somewhat annoying ringing in my right ear. After a short while even that went away and was replaced by a pleasant soft tingling throughout my body. Maybe a slight ringing in my left ear. I guess I don't have to put an end to everything after all.

 

The same thing happened yesterday when I woke up. I did the same thing with pretty much the same results. Two good days in a row for the first time in two years. No withdrawal symptoms at all. Right now I have a very minor ringing/tingling in my right ear. I'm a little f**ked up from the gabapentin but.....

Sorry you're having such a horrible time, I'm wondering if the coffee and espresso added to your pain. Coming of K and even now I cannot have any caffeine. It makes my symptoms 100 times worse. Perhaps you should try cutting it out for a while as well?

I guess I didn't express myself well enough. Must be the Gabapentin. I'm not sure if you mean physical pain or emotional pain... Actually I'm not in anything right now. I have adult ADD so coffee relaxes me like Ritalin did. My bad symptoms are the loud hissing and the intense cranial paresthesia which my morning dose of gabapentin gets rid of. So far...

Gabapentin is a medication that doctors don't try to force people off of as far as I know. I have three different doctors and they all want me on gabapentin so I'm safe there. One wants to crank me up to 5,000MGs a day, OOOOOOOOOOO Only kidding. I feel really ok right now. Two days in a row. That's like a miracle for me.
