Hi,

Every morning I wake up with the same depressive thoughts: things I didn't do in life/the past (regrets), scaring the future, doom and gloom all over....it ramps up the anxiety and my breathing goes very fast along with this....it's very hard to start a new day today...desperate again...

this is an illusion, it will pass. sorry to hear its affecting you. Try to remember some nicer moments or try some positive affirmations. remember the good

I'm sorry you're suffering Simone. The depression, intrusive thoughts/memories, doom and anxiety really suck. It's the benzo brain lying to you. Pinky's right... it's an illusion... a very painful illusion. Be extra kind and gentle with yourself. Love and healing to you.

Hi Simone, I'm sorry you're suffering. I too notice mornings are the worst for depressive thoughts, doom and gloom etc. I think things like I've wasted my life, I have nothing, etc etc. I didn't think those things every morning before benzos and not a huge amount has changed as I was only on them for 10 months total. I conclude that it's my benzo brain lying to me, and the same with you. It is hard not to listen to those thoughts but try to tell yourself your brain is not functioning properly yet, you are still healing and those dark thoughts are lies.

I have also been getting up like this for a while.

It was worse though while I was on the benzo, since I jumped I can feel a very very minor improvement. I continue to read success stories and have faith.

The morning feeling, well actually many feelings and symptoms are unexplainable.

Try to create and envision something great from the past and where you would like to be in the future.

I try to fill this vision with all the senses, feeling, taste, smell, sound etc. It helps me a little.

I have the same thing. I fear to wake up every morning cause of the anxiety and depression :( I really think I have PTSD in this moment Because I have obsessive thinking about my ex GF...

I am also feeling really bad waking up in the morning. This continues till the afternooon when I normally go swimming. Separately the pool is closed today because the holiday period is over. I can also go fitnessing, but that is not as effective as swimming. A cold shower also helps a bit. So I will do that now.

Hi there,

I had the same thing happening to me and I thought it would never end but it will.  I had to distract my self a lot with whatever I could handle distracting myself with. The thoughts would make me so depressed and my anxiety would go through the roof. Just know that it's your brain healing, it hard but slowly these thoughts will disappear.  I rarely get them now and if I do I distract myself or tell myself I'm not going to start thinking about this. I'm sick right now and healing slowly every day. Wish I could give remedy to have them stop straight away but it all takes time.

Thanks all for responding! Thinking this way and waking up with depressing obsessive negative thoughts is debilitating! Everything feels so real.... :-[
