Hi guys,

I know it's different for everyone.

Around the 6th month on the benzo(at this time I had no idea about tolerance/withdrawal etc.) my right inner ear sort of "shut down", forget the tinnitus and hearing loss but I have really uncomfortable aural fullness. I thought it was just an infection but after some research benzo's are common for causing a multitude of hearing issues.

I have been to a few ENT's, it's not the Eustachian tube or middle ear fluid.

Anyone else experience this?

Does it heal itself? How long after stopping the Benzo?

It's also causing uncomfortable dizziness.

Still early I know, 17 days since I jumped.

Yes, this feeling, along with many other physical head symptoms, are very common, hallmark symptoms of benzo withdrawal.  I had this for a long time, but it eventually got better.  How long that will take can't be predicted in advance since that's different for each of us, and 17 days is very early yet.

Back in 2010 I was put on diazepam. After few months I started to notice tinnitus, but the worst thing was pressure and fullness feeling in ears. Because of that I had even physically painful popping of eustachian tube.

Even though I didn't know it was because of benzo, I decided to gradually taper and take it only when needed. After 2 to 3 years it went away completely.

Now it also started, but so far, luckily it didn't last long or intense as first time, but I have zillion other even more awful symptoms.

Yes, it's benzo, it's "normal" and it will go away with time.

Once upon a time 24hrs in a day was not enough.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time.

Now 1 hour feels like 1 month.

And we have to give this time.

I hate these doctors, really hate them right now.

About a week or two off Ativan my ears had so much pressure in them I was scared they were going to explode.

It was like that for about a week mostly at night and then gradually went away.

Feel for you.

I had bionic hearing prior to benzos.  During tolerance withdrawal (which no doctor told me I was experiencing), I developed severe vertigo and hearing issues.  After a hearing exam, I was found to have severe hearing loss in some areas of hearing.  Severe tinnitus still here and ears regularly plug up as well.

whats weird is i just took a small dose of methylfolate and the head pain went away pretty much

My ears issues are really almost my worst symptoms. But I'd much rather have ear issues than depression, DP and DR.

In feb 2017 my inner ear (right) just gave in. I'm certain it was the benzo, I even went to extent of having a intratympanic steroid injection. No improvement at all!

Like all of us, I'm eagerly looking forward to getting pass this and help others.

So sorry to read that.  :-[

Hi

I started to taper the Klonopin in November 3018 and came off it two weeks ago. I have developed really bad ear pressure and a feeling of ear vibration. I also have tinnitus which sounds like electricity in the head. Can anyone say how long this ear pressure will last or if it will ever go away. It is so debilitating. I was on the benzo for about 18 months on and off and I realise that this drug has not done me any good. I am worried about my ears now.

It is different for everyone. I’ve had it for 2 years now along with fullness, crackling ,hyperacusis, and ringing ,as well as sensitivity to

Weather now since early taper. It’s my absolute worst symptom. But it’s different for everyone,I feel like mine is just extreme For some reason.
