Flubromazolam (Not Flubromazapam) taper nightmares

I'm joining benzobuddies to get off of Flubromazolam ( Not Flubromazapam)

I have toyed with benzodiazepines for my whole life and took them regularly this spring to "help" get off of opiates I've been on for 10 years. The opiate issues are not the problem anymore. I'm taking about 10 grams of kratom leaf per day.

I never took benzo withdrawal seriously till this year. It snuck up on me but looking back I should have known better.

I was taking valium then switched to Flubromazolam (like an idiot) over the course of a few months.

I was taking 3 mg of Flubromazolam or more per day for a few weeks. During the heaviest period of abuse I would mix 3 mg of Flubromazolam with 5 mg of Clonazolam (not Clonazepam, klonipan). I got these of of a website.

I started tapering very fast 2 months ago, I'm at 700 nano grams and feel very edgy with lots of ringing in my ears by the evenings. I take the dose of 700 ug of Flubromazolam at 10 p.m. every night. When I began my taper I went from 3 or more mg of Flubromazolam daily to 1mg daily when I snapped out of my stupidity due to my wife pointing out my terrible behaviour.

I have not seen a doctor regularly, ever, except as a child. I have just scheduled an appointment with a Dr recommended to me to see about switching to prescribed valium and tapering following the Ashton method. I don't know how it will go but I will take in information to inform him of professor Ashton's research.

I have my whole family supporting me. My Mom got a job to help me through this period of my life. I left my job and moved back home to get off this stuff. This has turned my life upside down. Any intelligent and knowledgeable advice is welcome!

Hello, helpmetaper :) - welcome to BenzoBuddies!

Some of our members have also been on so-called 'designer' benzos and got off successfully, and while I'm not personally familiar with their equivalencies to prescribed benzos, there are plenty of people here who will be able to assist you with a good tapering plan. It's so great that your family is supportive - that's going to be an enormous help during your withdrawal and recovery.

I'm so glad you decided to join the forum - you'll find plenty of information and support here. Our members have gone through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal, so you'll be able to connect with others who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them.

Based on the information provided in your introduction, the following links may be a good starting place for you to post your questions.

  General Taper Plans

  Withdrawal Support

When you have a chance, I recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative resource on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations.

For those who are currently tapering, a starting guideline is that the dosage not be reduced faster than by 5-10% every 10-14 days - some taper even more slowly than that. One exception: very short-term users of a few weeks or less may be able to taper somewhat faster.

Please take the time to Create a Signature. This will allow members to see where you are in the process, so that they can better support you.

Looking forward to seeing you on the forum!
