Benzo buddies,

16th day since I stopped.

How many of you are house bound?

Tried to get out a bit today, what a mission.

Managing but feel so edgy and weird.

Repeating calming words, helps a little.

Please don't let yourself become housebound.  It can quickly become a habit that can be difficult to break.  I know it will feel scary, but get out and be active.  I feel very strongly that it is a necessary part of your ultimate recovery, and the sooner you can make it happen, the better off you will be.

Thanks badsocref.

Needed to hear that, I just feel so annoyed forcing myself to do the littlest things.

Prior to this I just slept at home, I was always out and about.

I have to get over this.

I am housebound currently. There have been times in my recovery I was well enough to go out and other times I'm too sick. Forcing myself out makes it worse. In high school I was in a car accident that left me with a brain injury. It was difficult to recover from... no one would have told me to force myself to be active when I was really sick then. I believe it's the same now. Sometimes you will need extra rest and isolation. Other times you will feel better and you can do more. I've made peace with this weird recovery process and I know my limitations. I think it's best to listen to your body and do what feels right for you each day. Strength and healing to you and your brain. xoxo

Really really nice post from Redsky, logical and sound advice. Deep down, I think you know what your body is telling you. Please, take care. 16 days is still very early in your recovery.

Wish you well! xoxo
