what is benzo belly?

hello buddies, can someone tell me what a "benzo belly" is?

Kind of a general term for a bunch of GI maladies - bloating, gas, indigestion, diarrhea, reflux, weight gain

i agree with badsocref. it's actually IBS. all GI symptoms can occur, including pain (shifting pain from lower abdomen to under rib cage) and constipation too. there is no one standard symptom that is common to all benzo belly cases. the only commonality is that endoscopy will reveal no abnormality except perhaps gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying).

Yep - forgot about IBS, constipation.  Also nausea.  I'm sure there are more.

I've read somewhere that the muscles that hold your belly are releasing. Your belly is particularly low and full of air, like a beer belly.
