Is it possible to taper quickly?

I just made my most recent cutting them down to 1 mg of clonazepam. I need to wean myself off of this medication before my refills are up because I don't want to see my doctor again. I have four months supply left. I haven't stabilized at 1 mg but I have been stabilizing fairly quickly so I'm hoping that won't be too much of an issue. Any advice? Thanks

You a prescription for four months of 1mg a day?  You could make a schedule where you can taper and it doesn't even have to be that fast, because you will be taking less soon, and can take some more time in your taper. 

 

For example if you are down to .5mg in two month, then the rest of your prescription will last four more months.  I see in your signature that you have been on it for 8 years.  I wouldn't consider it a failure if you did need to get more to finish your taper, but it depends on how your body does with tapering.  Some people have an easier time than others.

Yes it is definitely possible and some great advice from GreenCup again. It is possible this won't be much of an issue if it's the first time around. Nobody knows. Could be you can do it with little to no withdrawals if not you will have to go see your doctor again.

a 4 month supply and you're already at 1 mg?  lolololol you have A LOT left yo, you can make a very slow taper last a good year probably .

 

I tapered directly off Ativan, a short acting benzo, in 3 months cause my Psychiatrist, tho sexy as hell, cut me off, so i had to cut like .25 every week, it was hell!

 

Im almost 6 months off and still having slight waves . Shoot me :laugh: :D
