I know it's very hard to be alone in such situation. Even with some people around us it can still be very lonely, scary and frustrating experience. Try to follow Ashton taper manual: http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzsched.htm

Or try to find someone who will help your through taper. Hang on there!

I heard another guy say the other day he spent months thinking he couldn't do it anymore and yet somehow he did. I'm sorry they've screwed you up so bad. But your son needs you. And there is still so much beauty in this world even if you can't connect to it. Be a hero. Beat this thing so everyone else can see that it can be done. Please hang in there.

I'm so sorry to read about your most unfortunate situation. I have one idea for you. Try going to a narcotics anonymous meeting. There are so many people who have been put on prescribed medications that cause addiction and withdrawal. Their situation may be unlike yours but the difficulties of withdrawal are universal among medications. Benzo's are the longest and most symptomatic but their are people out there that will give you a sense of community and support.

It's worth a try. If you don't like a particular group go to another one. Being abused abd alone is a common thread many people in these groups share. You should be able to find someone who can relate to you on some level.

Prayers and best wishes!

Yes NA or AA could really help you not feel so alone right now. maybe it's worth thinking about the three month hospitalization. even if they helped you lower your dose, you'd be in a controlled and supportive environment which it sounds like you need right now. and no matter what an 18 yo says, your son still needs you- keep fighting!
