I need a tapering plan for getting off of 5mg Librium capules..help!

Hello...need help in tapering off 5 mgs of Librium...I take it once at night.  I would like to try the liquid titration method.  I'm not sure what to buy to do it..I need step by step instructions to make sure I'm doing this right.  And should I buy a 100ml cylinder or 300ml one.  And some say use alcohol..I don't want to do that.  Contradicting information is scary...so not sure what to do.  I would like to do 5% off per month.  Please someone advise me on how to do this.  I want to do 5 mgs in one dose at night just like I'm doing right now.  They are capsules with powder in them.

there are a few members tapering librium using alcohol/water right now and they can guide you. please put "ATTN. GARDENER99 AND BUILDER" at the top of your message. gardener is tapering librium and is also a moderator -- builder is an expert on tapering and its arithmetic.

 

i make a solution using 4 ml alcohol so i don't think i can help you. 5% per month sounds like a good rate.

 

100 ml cylinder is fine -- i make a 60 ml solution and discard 2 ml every day.

 

there is no harm in dissolving it in 4 ml alcohol but i will leave it up to you. i use tablets so alcohol is preferable for me. you use capsules and water might be preferable for you for you can empty the capsule in the water and discard the shell? honestly i don't know -- ask gardener99!

I thought Libirum/Chlordiazepoxide only came in capsule form...really wish mine were pills.
