Since jumping - maybe even before - I've had the looping melodies in my head.  It is constant some days.  Lately it is The Old Churchyard and before that it was A New Day in Hell.  Sometimes it distracts from sxs.  Sometimes it feels insane.  Sometimes I laugh aloud when I realize what the melody is - it is often unconscious.  WBB

I'm relieved to hear someone else is experiencing this! It's maddening that the Mario Brothers theme song is stuck on a loop in my head all the bloody time and I haven't heard, seen or played the game since I was a child.

This is one of my worst mental symptoms by far along with the crazy racing thoughts going through my mind. I have music looping in my head 24/7 no joke. And it's not one song - it can be songs I heard on the radio, in a store, songs from way back in my past, songs I heard few weeks ago... It's so incessant and mind shattering.

The songs are from anything I happen to hear.  Songs on the radio and the theme songs of tv shows I'm watching to try and distract.  It is distressing because now it's worse!  It used to be during breaks in my activity but now it happens at times like when I sit down to dinner with my family or while I'm listening to a talk with my earbuds during my daily walk.  I love music and have been to many concerts during my life but I hate this SO much.  Anyone have this go away and when?

omg you just described how I experience the looping music perfectly. I am also a huge music lover and love going to shows and concerts. But now this symptom has made music somewhat unbearable. My brain just strongly attaches to any song that plays around me and continues to play music during times that are inconvenient like when I'm doing work or eating lunch with a friend. It's exhausting. I too wonder if anyone had this go away?!

I had this for a long time.  I found I could "change the tune" by listening to a different catchy song a few times in a row.  Of course, that song would be stuck in my head then, but at least it was a change, and this way I could "pick" the music!

When I have some illness which kicks up the w/d symptoms a bit -- the looping comes back.  I picked up my car today and the mechanic had my radio on to a station that had Capn Beefheart on - of all things.  So I now have the Hot Dog song refrain in my head.  I actually had this album in the 70s -- completely forgot that tune until today.  The tinnitus in the background doesn't help.

The looping is a kind of distraction from other symptoms though.  It is like an adaptive symptom.  WBB
