Final two mgs...need help!

Hello

New to posting here.

I have been reading your site during some very rough months of a clonazepam taper. Had started Sept 7th 2016 and went quickly from 2.5 mgs of clonazepam to 4 mg of diazepam in 2 months. Ended up having to cut very slowly after that and at 2 mgs of diazepam now. Ready to start final taper. Need support.  As have some panic after the awful experience with earlier taper hell. Have never went up in dose but holding at 2 mgs of diazepam now for 2 months. Feel stuck and scared. As thyriod went hyper (not fun...) and had some significant  family loss. Want to start 2 mg taper this weekend. Is 1/4 of a tablet ok once every 2 weeks or so to cut? Or slower?? Only have 2 mgs pills here no liquid form if med. Thanks so much! Peace.

Hello, Peacehound :) - welcome to BenzoBuddies!

Congratulations on being so close to the end - you may feel stuck right now, but that's a great deal of progress from 2.25 mgs of clonazepam, especially during a time of such loss and stress.

I'm so glad you decided to join the forum - you'll find plenty of information and support here. Our members have gone through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal, so you'll be able to connect with others who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them.

Based on the information provided in your introduction, the following links may be a good starting place for you to post your questions.

  General Taper Plans

  Withdrawal Support

When you have a chance, I recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative resource on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations.

For those who are currently tapering, a starting guideline is that the dosage not be reduced faster than by 5-10% every 10-14 days - some taper even more slowly than that. One exception: very short-term users of a few weeks or less may be able to taper somewhat faster.

Please take the time to Create a Signature. This will allow members to see where you are in the process, so that they can better support you.

Looking forward to seeing you on the forum!

Hi Peacehound, yes, you can post your tapering/jumping questions on General Taper Plans, and for other support questions, try starting with Withdrawal Support.

Glad to have you here!  :)
