Taper Mirtazapine and Lorazapam and the same time?

Hi! Is anyone on this combo? I've been tapering the Mirt since May. Started in March. On 1.12 mg Lorazapam. Has anyone tapered both at the same time? Or alternated months?

Mirt helped me taper so much I'd personally never do both at the same time.

I agree that I would NOT try to taper at the same time. I got off Valium about 4 1/2 months ago and have been tapering from the mirt and it has nearly as many withdrawal effects as the benzo. Our nervous systems need gradual changes so I would think it best to do one first and then the other. Mirt can help with sleep so you may want to go off the Lorazapam first, but check with your doctor to determine what's best for your situation.

I would not taper at the same time or alternate months. Pick one (I would do the benzo first), then the other. I think it is always, always best to change one thing at a time (that goes for adding/removing supplements, changing diet, etc.) because otherwise how do you know what is causing what symptom?

I would stay on the mirt during tapering too.  I'm on it myself and believe it helps with benzo withdrawal as so far (fingers crossed) I've got off fairly lightly on my klonopin taper.
