Does anyone else just get discouraged when they read the success stories? I know the intention is good, and they are there to give us hope, but when I read them I find myself wondering if I will EVER the point to be able to call myself healed. Honestly reading them just bums me out (especially the ones who have healed more quickly than me).  Just wondering if that's just me...

The ones who have healed are those who have taken low doses for a short time and did a slow taper. That can't be compared to those who have taken high doses and a decade or more. Looking at your signature you were on Ativan for only 3 years which isn't very long compared to others but the problem is the rapid taper that will take considerably longer to heal. If your doctor did a gradual taper you would already been healed. You're also taking gabapentin which also has withdrawals which also needs a taper and healing time. You have a long journey ahead of you.

To tell you the truth, I don't read them except for those who have had a particularly rough time and have come a long way. I do read those because my plight is similar. But the quick healers? No, not at all. It discourages me too much. You aren't alone in that thought. I'm sure there are many people that take care of reading the quick healers' stories. Let them do it.

Success stories used to be the only thing that got me through. Now short term and low dose 26 months out and success stories do nothing anymore
