Thinking of jumping off?

I'm down to 1mg V. I've been cutting .5mg every 2 weeks since 10mg. I've been at this for almost 3 years now and am scared to death to mess up at this point. I haven't been able to function normally for most of that 3 years due to anxiety(never had anxiety prebenzo). For example, I rarely leave the house and can't socialize at all. Even so, this taper is not even close to as bad as my first taper years ago. But as I get closer to my last cut I'm starting to question it. I don't feel good now but I do know it could be so much worse. I jumped off at 1mg my first taper but honestly I couldn't have felt worse anyway. Anyone else jump off at 1mg V or have advice? Thanks

Well I think I have my answer. I'm getting slammed by this last cut so I guess I'll keep cutting. Love and prayers for all.

Well, I'm tapering with Librium and planned go down to 1.5 mg level which equals roughly 0.6mg Valium. Being in your situation I would cut once again and stabilize before jump as it doesn't mean much more time.  All the success what ever you decide!

Wow, I thought you would have got some rdplies to that... But it is the quiet time of day as you can see by posting volume, or lack of...

First, congrats on getting to this point...

My suggestion would be to go low and slow... Infact I will be doing 0.25 V cuts (if I dont Micro), and getting very stable between each reduction... But I dont want post acute dramas... -I am factoring in MY cut lag time and med accumilation etc... -no rush...

But If you are feeling strong between cuts and recover quick, 0.5 might be ok for you..??

Sorry, but jumping from 1V isnt my thing... -But its not my decision anyway...

My theory is not to rush to 0 trying to outrun SX...

Good luck...

*** Hi Thomas, you beat me..!!

*** Hi Cantly, well we both are in a timezones the BB is typically quiet and our posting times differs a lot comparing US.  It is not 'beating' but postings from all over the world keeps BB real 24x7 support forum. Well when US folks became active, it is almost dinner and evening dose time for me :-)

Well I was thinking of the actual texting/typing time... There is a bit of an ongoing joke as I only text from a fone...

But yeah, Australia is often in the next day when chatting to many...

But then, Im nocturnal anyway, so it doesnt matter much...

Good to know its not a competition though... Are you from New Zealand??

Thanks for the replies! I understand that a lot of people don't feel well enough to comment or don't know how to respond. I'm just really disappointed because I've had it in my head this whole time that I was going to jump off at 1mg but now I need to keep cutting. There's no guarantee that I won't have a difficult time no matter when I jump off but I guess there a better chance of having an easier time if I go lower. Also, the reason why I stopped the gabapentin is because the glands in my neck swelled up I appeared to have developed maybe a sinus infection. It also seemed to abruptly stopped working. That was several months ago and I'm still suffering from very painful swollen glands and sinus problems. I made to to the doctor once and went through 3 rounds of antibiotics with no improvement. So not only do I feel crappy from withdrawal but I feel sick and in constant pain too. Really anxious to get this over with so I can get back to the doctor to figure out what's wrong with me. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Have you sped up a bit recently..??

-Did the sinus/flu come shortly after that..?

Reason I ask, Is that after my two worst (50%) cuts, I got a hell Flu and sinus condition...

I had swabs done as I have no spleen -negative

And a head CT scan for a fall, which showed chronic sinus congestion...

The last one my throat was bleeding etc... But a dose correction fixed it... But I also took antibiotics...

Just dont be too shocked if its WD... AKA -benzo flu...

Get to the lowest possible dose before you jump and a slow taper is best. You brain and body will thank you. Stay strong buddy  :smitten:

I was on gabapentin last year and after 2 months my glands swelled up and my withdrawal got worse. I thought it was due to cutting the klonopin too fast. I went off it, updosed, and my glands went down. This time after almost exactly the same amount of time on the gabapentin, my glands swelled up again and I got really sick. After I went off the gabapentin again, withdrawal symptoms improved but my glands have remained swollen and painful. I've read that gabapentin can compromise your immune system so I suspect I had an underlying sinus problem that it made worse.

I would cut to .5 mg before jumping. You are almost there so another cut can't hurt. OR do micro cuts to get there. Either way. I am jumping at 1 mg of Librium which is about .25 Valium. I am down to 1.5 Librium now so not much longer. I could go to zero but I figure why drag it out longer. You have been tapering a really long time though so maybe slower is best for you. Maybe even going down to zero because you have been at it so long, a part of you might be psychologically addicted to it. It has become the norm. Really at the end of the day only you can decide.
