As an admirer and far-from-perfect practitioner of Buddhist teachings, I was saddened by this piece in Tricycle, a key Buddhist publication.  Many people, like me, have been attracted to Buddhism as a means of coping with psychic pain and the pain of withdrawal.  The teachings can help greatly.  But in this case it wasn't enough.
