Skin Contact with Klonopin 0.125mg Disintegrating Tablet

Now, I'm probably being really paranoid about this, but, I just wanted to hear opinions from others. I briefly touched a 0.125mg Clonazepam disintegrating tablet while throwing old medication away and powder made contact with my fingers for a couple of seconds. It's been 30 months since I finished my taper, yet I still am in withdrawal. I'm at the point to where I get strong, short lived waves if there is a cause, not so much just a random thing anymore. Anyways, I wanted to know if this skin contact could do something? I immediately washed it off my skin, and it wasn't a whole lot of powder. My hands were pretty dry, even though I had recently come out of the shower. I heard that orally disintegrating tablets could potentially go through the skin. I'm not sure if that means just a small amount and for such a brief moment of time could do anything.

Klonopin isn't soluable in water so even if your hands were wet I don't think you could have absorbed anything.  I think it is highly unlikely.

Perhaps one of the science experts will drop by and weigh in.

My opinion = Slim to none.

In any case, there are many people who've needed to take a benzo post-taper for, say, a medical procedure ... with no repercussion.

Sounds like you're doing really well otherwise, nice to hear!

Thank you two for the responses. I had a feeling that would be the case. I guess I just wanted to ease my nerves a bit. I've been doing alright, except I can't go outside much due temperature sensitivity causing anxiety. It's always in the 100s down here. I also can't eat a lot of foods, and right now I think I have gastritis making that list of foods much smaller, but otherwise, it's not a living hell everyday. I just fear for having it all come back due to taking in that poison, even if it's just with a touch.

I know heat intolerance appears to be a problem for many members.  Sorry about the food limitations and possible gastritis but, hey, Not a living hell every day sounds awesome ... maybe you'll be back in a few months with your success story?  :)  Will keep fingers crossed for you.

Not worth stressing yourself out over nothing in the meantime.  Seriously.  Chances are you probably only touched the filler materials anyway.

I sure hope so. I'm still housebound for the most part. Outside environments are a bit too much sometimes. Usually it's because of the heat, or because of the stress, or one thing or another. I sure hope I'm close to a success story. I've been sick for 30+ months now, and I figured it would be over by now. I heard that this isn't uncommon, though. 3-4 years being what a lot of people reported as their entirety being sick.
