Emergency Infection and Surgery

I've been dealing with issues from lorazepam and gabapentin for a while now. I tapered gabapentin last year rapidly and felt awful. Never really stabilized from that.

 

Earlier this month, I went to the ER with terrible pain in my abdomen. Long story short, I developed a severe infection and had to have my appendix removed.

 

Anyway, I am currently 11 days out from surgery and I've noticed a clear presentation of interdose withdrawals. I take lorazepam 1 mg three times a day and gabapentin at the same times 100 mg.

 

I know I'm suffering from severe PTSD from my long battle with these meds and now it seems my symptoms are intensified. I know I need to heal from surgery but going through near panic attacks multiple times a day before dosing is frightening. Life is a battle, I won't give in but I need support.

So sorry to hear you had to have surgery during all of this Dexter.  I hope the surgery took care of the infection and you are at least feeling a bit better in that regard.  I had no idea that interdose withdrawals were causing so many of my symptoms while on benzos.  I hope you will be able to stabilize as you recover from the surgery and then maybe you could start a taper?
