Or SJW, 5htp. I'm looking to take less chemicals if an amino acid works well.

Hi Americano,

I haven't ever taken SJW or SSRIs, but I have taken tryptophan, 5-htp, and a tricyclic. The tricyclic was long before any other drugs, and when I was a teenager. It was clomipramine. Looking back it worked very well, but had some annoying side effects. The 5-htp and tryptophan both work alright. Don't give me any additional symptoms, but really only work to lift some of the darker depression when it hits. I reserve the 5htp for if I start feeling extra 'blue.  If I take more than a small dose (50-100mg of 5htp), I just feel weird. I take 100mg tryptophan most nights (it also converts to melatonin and makes you sleepy). I generally have less depression the following days, but then other symptoms seem to be more pronounced. Probably mainly because I'm not focused on the depression.

Anyway, I was just reading a thread about lamictal and noticed that you were one of the ones who was taking it. Just curious if you were still on it and how it was working for you?

Still on it I keep slipping up and smoking grass taking a few ambien, vyvanse so hopefully I can stabilize better. I think it's doing some good though.
