I'm not sure where to ask this question but what I would like to know is if any one benzo is worse than another. I've read in different places that one or another of them is the worst one or most potent or more difficult to come off of.  Does one or another cause more damage?  I would be thankful for any insight into this

Hi BlackeyedSusan

I don't want to flip but most may say "the one you are on.  But in all seriousness, I've read Klonopin

Is hard to get off of, Valium is known to cause or result in depression, and xanax is short acting.  So

To me they are all equally posionious.

Probably not the answer you were looking for.

They all cause damage. That's all I need to know. I've heard others say klonopin too. I'm really sad and angry we are all in this mess.

Me too. I know it is not helpful and doesn't change anything but sometimes I get so angry when I think about how flippantly and easily doctors prescribe this poison. And how they just continue to refill prescriptions when they know it should not be used long term ( meaning no more than 2 weeks max). None of us should be in this predicament!  Sorry about the mini rant....just feeling a bit sorry for myself today.

I appreciate your rant! No need for apology. I feel sorry for you too, and for all of us. I don't think I can ever trust a doctor again. If I wasn't able to vent about this misery on BB I would explode!

I've heard that xanax is the worst. That was what I consumed back then. And yes, it is the shortest acting benzo, if I'm not mistaken. But of course dosage also plays an important role here.

@Red Sky: I understand what you feel. I feel sorry to all the people who have ever come across this mess without knowing the danger ahead of them. That included me. Now I'm trying my best into all things that are natural, holistic and nutritional when it comes to health, that includes functional medicine practitioners. They know what really happens in the body including the root causes of diseases because they see the body as a whole, interconnected system. I have benefitted a lot from them, even though this is only via the internet, as I haven't found one in my place yet, not to mention the really intelligent ones.

I'm not into conventional health care system anymore, except for some reasons such as, say, emergency situations or like some occasions when my post withdrawal paranoia rises and prompts me compulsively to ask all my worries to them just to be assured and/or be checked so I can prove to my paranoia that I'm okay and it was all from benzo withdrawal.

As my own research progresses, my understanding of my own body and condition increases, so I become more and more calm, less anxious - and - as a result, my "paranoia reassurance visit" to them decreases and I hope it will stop forever, given the non-exceptional condition I described above.

For me, its Lorazepam. Because of the short half-life and the really fast upcoming addiction. In Germany its prescribed so easily  :-\

Zolpidem and Zopiclone are also devils because first you don't have any side effects. Valium and the other big ones give you the sleepy feeling so that you can feel the power from the beginning, the Z-drugs behave as if they are safe and "light" and are sold as non-benzos. what a lie..

no one deserves that shit.

Xanax is the most addictive. Has the euphorizing effects, just like booze. Which is even worse.

Big Pharma will not invent anything more destructive, as long as BZD are concerned.

I wonder when Eli Lilly will launch those "medical heroin" pills.

My ex pillhead and alcoholic bf offered me a whole pack of Xanax as a "gift". He brought all kinds of presents like that to my appt. when he was bombed. Got rid of it at once.

You've got to hate a benzo in order to at least control it. I hate Valium with all my heart.

I would never touch Xanax. Bestseller in my country.

Sorry some moron hooked you up on it.

Temazepam may be one of the worst as far as fast acting and psychologically addictive from what I just read.
