I posted previously about how to find a baseline when Dr. switched me to 30 mg temazepan and i supplemented with etzi because my body is way more used to fast acting after 8 1/2 years of the same xanax dose of 1-2 mgs a day.

 

Intrestingly, I ran out of the prescription and didn't take any temazepan last night and only 2mgs etzi at 10 om and 3 mgs at 230 am when I always wake up.  Woke up easily at 630 am and had way better energy and less depression than normal.

 

I think my body just hates long acting benzos and now my plan is to titrate just from etzi....though it is quite expensive.  From my last experience of titrating from xanax, the first step I was given was to split the dose into 3 doses to be broken up during a 24 hr. period....I was able to do that and still sleep with the aid of tryptophan, holy basil and melatonin.

 

I'm not sure if I should take the same approach to etzi because it seems to make me sleepier though the dose would be smaller obviously and it might be fine.

 

I have been taking anywhere from 4-8mgs etzi and the 30 mgs of temazepam. Right nowI feel no benzo withdrawal but could be due to halflife of temazepam.

 

But since I simply feel better waking up without taking the prescribed longer acting it seems reasonable to either find another doctor who will put me back on xanax to titrate just like I did before or just stick with the etzi and experiment for the next few days to find a baseline and then even out the doses just like before.

 

I could really use some help with this benzo buddies. I know you are all busy but once I find the right strategy I will be good and here to help others.

 

BTW, I am the person who had a bad kratom (9 year) addiction and quit CT 3 months ago....so that has really made the benzo baseline difficult between the PAWS (very horrible) from the K and me using etzi more than I should. 

 

Now I am really ready to take on total freedom from drugs of any kind.

What is etzi?  How long are you waiting after crossover to start your taper?

Etizolam is a non'scheduled fast acting benzo you can buy from the internet. I guess I need help from someone who understands it.  I don't even understand it.  I'm waiting till I don't feel like I'm in benzo withdrawal from the long acting but Idon't even know if thats possible...to titrate from etzi.  Thanks.

Why are you taking etzi AND valium?  I would stop taking the etzi and take the same dose of V everyday so you can stabilize.  Unless you feel like you need to taper the etzi also at this point.
