Decreased libido

Has anyone had difficulty with their libido during taper? I have absolutely no interest in sex and am normally quite a sexual person. Please tell me it comes back.. I don't want to spend the rest of my life as a monk..

Mine is so shot, and I mean SHOT.  Before I got on benzos I was on opiates (Suboxone) and I still had a sex drive then which is funny because people say they kill your libido, but the benzos completely decimated it.  It has to come back with time.  The question is how much.  A few people have told me it takes a little while, but a few have told me that once they got off the benzo it came back right away.  It's a crappy thing to deal with for sure.

Yes! You are not alone in this. During my fast taper, withdrawal and in recovery it is nonexistent. At most points my symptoms have been so overwhelming I can't even handle someone touching me in nonsexual ways. It's like sensory overload that produces anxiety and makes me feel I'm coming out of my skin. I used to be a sexual person. I also used to be a lot of other things, now I just feel like a shell of symptoms. I hope we all get this back.

It will come back.  Just have to give it time.  Right now your mind is focused on other things so is normal for your libido to be down.  Time heals everything.

Hey Steve.  Was feeling ok yesterday.  Bad headache though.  Today is day 5 with no Xanax.  Had a hard time coming to work today but made it in.  Feeling weird today, like spaced out kind of.  Haven't had much anxiety and no panic attacks since I jumped, but just very edgy during the day and nervous that I will have a panic attack.  So far though I feel better then I did when I was having inter dose withdrawal.  Let me know how your making out
