Finally down to 1/4 tablet of 1 mg Clonazapam I've been on since 1988

I wanted to let folks, especially those on a low dosage like I've been, that it worked for me over just under 4 months to get this far.

 

I did have terrible withdrawals trying to quit cold-turkey on even 1 mg a day, maybe because of the length of time I took it.  1988 until today.  I am not even taking the 1/4 today because I talked to my doc, and she said to try it and see if I didn't feel like I needed it, not to even take it anymore.

 

I'd love to hear from others that were down to their last bit to take, and how they finally just tossed it;)

 

I just weened by going down 1/4 at a time.  I did .75 mg for 1 month, and then .5 for 2 months, and finally the 1/4 going on the 4th month.  I had no side-effects I know of, unless the couple of migraines I had, which I've had all my life.  The reason I think maybe they were part of the withdrawal is because I basically didn't have any after I turned 50, and then had 2 this Summer while weening.

Congrats!... It's encouraging to see someone near the end of the benzo life...  I to was on a low dose for a month and stopped, only to find out I had already become dependent and quickly started a taper.  You appear to be one of the lucky one's who didnt have all the withdrawal syptoms during your taper....
