ADHD symptoms? compulsive movement? inability to focus?

Someone please let me know i'm not alone in this. I just .... cannot .... concentrate. I sit down to write, and then I get up for a snack, and then I redirect myself, and then I get up to pee, and then I sit down, and then I can't read more than three words before I have to itch, and then a thought swirls around in my brain, and I try to shake it, but they keep intruding. It's like I can't have deep, wide thoughts. I'm stuck in this shallow zone with a bunch of tiny fish that keep thwopping around in my brain. It makes me feel dumb and worthless and like I will never accomplish my dreams because my brain is broken. I'm trying to look into CBT, anything that will help my damaged working memory. I do yoga, meditate, but it feels like this damage has permeated so deep.

 

Would love to hear about someone with these symptoms that has improved...

I completely understand. I've been wondering if maybe I've been ADHD my whole life. I actually logged on here to write about this exact same stuff....and ran into your post. I moved about a month ago and simply cannot focus on getting my new place together. Jumping around from project to project saying "THIS IS NOT NORMAL. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?" So now I guess I'm here to tell you... you're not alone. And this seems to be part of the process. You've made me feel not so alone and I hope I've helped you a bit as well. Keep on keepin' on.
