What do you do when you have a relapse and break your taper?

So I found that today I was feeling extremely nauseous, and light headed.  I know these are common withdrawal side effects for the stage I'm at in my taper, but I was having a very difficult time rationalizing that, and it started to turn into a full blown panic attack.  I was one step away from going to the ER because I was convinced that the nausea and light-headed sensation were signs of an abdominal aneurysm, or some other catastrophic health event, and in turn my pulse skyrocketed.

I really wanted to avoid going to the ER because I've already been there two times in as many months, and I was feeling a bit ridiculous about the prospect of going again.  I have good insurance, but I just had all kinds of bloodwork and scans done recently, so it felt completely unnecessary and I don't want to become the hypochondriac emergency room regular.  I'm 29, so the doctors usually look at me like I'm crazy when I voice concerns about specific cardiovascular conditions after I receive normal ekgs, test negative for clots, etc.

I went ahead and took an extra emergency dose of Xanax and found the symptoms I was feeling began to subside, which confirmed to me that what I was experiencing was related to anxiety and withdrawal, rather than a medical episode.

I suppose the question I have is, will this effect my taper in any way?  Should I just continue with my normal schedule as though it didn't happen?  I know my doctor would say yes, but at this point I'm taking her advice with a grain of salt and am in the process of seeking a second opinion for my taper plan from another physician, because she won't follow Ashton Manual protocol (during my last visit I asked for various concessions that are in line with what the Ashton Manual suggests, though I was unaware of the document at that time, and she immediately dismissed me).
