Hi madhavarao  Welcome to Benzobuddies!

You will receive plenty of support here.  Please don't stop abruptly, benzodiazepines need to be tapered off slowly.  A gradual taper of between 5-10% every 10-14 days is generally recommended.  I am going to leave a link to the Ashton Manual, a great source of information about these types of medications and how to withdraw.  The manual explains how the benzos affect the body and also lists common symptoms that are caused by withdrawal or reduction .

Withdrawal can be quite a tough time, being amongst people who understand helps enormously. We have a great bunch of people here, our members have been through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal, and will share their experiences with you.

Here are a couple links to information on tapering and also withdrawal support while tapering.

hi madhavarao,

why do you want to stop your alprazolam? i am curious.

there are a couple of methods of tapering as you will notice in the "general taper plans" link given by magrita. the microtaper method (either dry or liquid), it appears, is the most smooth. i am doing a liquid microtaper currently. feel free to ask questions.
