Hey buddies,

Just wanted some advice here.

I am a few days away from being 6 months off klonopin. And although I am happy about that- I am far from healed. I still have an array of symptoms which are becoming somewhat manageable however one of the worst is the head buzzing and tinnitus.

I can best describe it as I feel like I am standing underneath power lines. An electric buzzing sensation with tinnitus mainly in my right ear. This sensation causes me to feel dizzy at times and have somewhat shaky vision. As well as sensitivity to light. Especially when bright flashes come on the television or if I'm wearing sunglasses outside and remove them.

The volume of this buzzing does seemed turned down at times but then can flare up randomly throughout the day and get pretty loud at times. And is never completely gone.

I am not currently taking any supplements or RX of any kind.

Anyone experience this? Was hoping it would be gone by now.

Does anything help? Or just have to wait it out?

Thank you

I have this too and would like to hear what others have to say. I haven't found anything that helps with this. I suspect the answer is... time.

I have this internal tremor and buzzing in the head too. It is typically on when I wake up and then during the day it comes and goes. In case I'm relaxed it stays away but in case of even small stress it comes and stays until I can rest. Don't know what is causing it and does it goes away over the time. I'm still tapering so I hope it disappears over the time.

I'm 5 months off and have exactly what you are talking about. Has gotten better since month 1-3, but still does it a little bit. For me I have shaky vision along with it. It's basically a 24 hour thing, but gotten very subtle lately, so hopefully this means it eventually goes away

Hey all

Thanks for the replies. Im glad to know others have experienced this. In my paranoid state of withdrawal I thought maybe I had some abnormal case with symptoms worse than most that may never heal at all.

Apparently it's just another symptom that will take time and patience but glad to hear it will go away with time.

I have noticed that exercise seems to help. When I finish a good workout especially cardio I cannot hearr the ringing or buzzing for a few hours. And my vision is not shaky or really sensitive.

It's great to hear that exercise helps you! I've experienced an increase in severity of symptoms when I try to exercise but I've been having some windows in symptoms so I should try it again. It seems like exercise is helping a lot of people who are suffering withdrawal. xoxo

Hey Red Sky,

I would totally recommend giving it another go.  Honestly I feel like at times it's the only thing that has kept me sane during all of this.  I can be having such an awful morning with such negative thinking and after a good cardio workout it's like an entirely different day.

The only thing is for me I cannot do very intense workouts every day or else I get to hyped up.  Not necessarily a wave,  but just a little bit jittery like I've had coffee or something.

So I alternate every other day between heavy cardio and easy workouts like a long walk or yoga.

Hey buddy,

So exercising has helped your shaky vision? Maybe I should do a better job of that. My vision still shakes also and brings on anxiety. Any other recommendations? Do you feel like your vision has gotten any better since beginning of it?

Hey Scrappy,

Yes exercise has helped immensely.

It has definitely gotten better. The first few months after jumping I was wearing sunglasses almost all the time. Even when I was indoors I would sometimes wear them. And it was very hard to hold conversations with people because not only did my eyes look like a deer in headlights 24/7, but my vision would get shaky as well. Which would cause anxiety and dizziness.

Now I can converse much easier and don't have to wear the sunglasses unless I'm outside.

My eyes are still pretty sensitive to sunlight and bright lights at night time. But it continues to improve.

The buzzing in my head and tinnitus seem to be directly tied to vision complications. It's a package deal. I'm thinking it's just my nervous system still sensitive and still on overdrive.

Diet, most supplements, and drugs can make it all much worse which is why I had to stop taking anything and eat healthy. I do paleo diet now.

It's tough to stay patient after it's already been 6 months! But just have to keep on truckin!

I have the same thing with sensitivity to light and tinnitus (and also hyperacusius ) 6 months off now and it is easing up a bit exception for the tinnitus. I also recognise the hyped up feeling after work out.  I guess it takes time but I'm still a little uncertain and insecure about these symptoms,  scared they'll never go away. Although I wish you weren't experiencing this, I'm also glad I'm not the only one :)

That's good to hear it has gotten better evio... so has mine, but it's still here which always still gets me concerned. If you had to describe how your shaky vision is, how would you describe it?

FemWen I'm sorry to hear it's happening to you as well. But like you said it's comforting to hear others have the same symptoms so we know this is part of the process and not some rare individual problem.

Scrappy- it's not shaky at all times anymore but there are a couple times I notice it the most. The first being when I lay in my side and watch tv. Sometimes looking up at the television from that angle makes my vision shake and I have to focus my eyes on one spot to center my vision.

The other time is when I get nervous or anxious. My vision gets shaky. Like my brain is a rattler behind my eyes. Sometimes it even feels wobbly like a globe spinning in my head and tilting side to side. Makes it hard to focus on anything.

Combine this with the buzzing and ringing and you've got some pretty annoying symptoms!

I have shaky vision too but I would call it bouncy instead. It happens when I move my eyes and land on an object to look at. My eyes bounce when they land on an object. It makes me so anxious and disoriented.

I'm at seven months and have a lot of head buzzing, especially in the right ear. Feels like I have pressure there too. It started getting more frequent last month and has been super bad the past ten days. I don't have vision issues though. The tinnitus is bad enough on its own.

Yeah my vision bounces now when I walk, or even if I'm eating something very crunchy, it's like it rattles my eyes. So mad my body has changed in me like this.
