Has anyone had their tinnitus pulsate?

Sadly I googled this and it's fairly serious. Hoping I'm not the only one. It pulsates with my heartbeat it sounds like.

I experience this. Both with and without ringing. The sound or ability to hear sounds like it's wooshing in and out with my heartbeat. I feel dizzy with it too. It is serious?! I thought it was just because of wd symptoms of ear and head pressure. I constantly feel the need to "pop" my ears like when traveling to high altitude.

I have this as well.  I've never had the "ringing" tinnitus, but am plagued with the pulsatile kind.  I only notice it when I'm laying down at night on my side.  I'm hopeful it will pass eventually.

Oooo that sounds annoying!

I've particularly noticed that whenever I get tinnitus,  its usually because I have low blood pressure from laying down too much or not eating well throughout the day. I've noticed that eating a fruit like a banana or mango it goes away

I've had this whooshing and pulsating tinnitus in synch with my heartbeat for 33 months.  Alas, it's one of my two mainstay symptoms.  Although I don't like that the rest of you have this too, I am so relieved I am not the only one.

Yes I’ve had the pulsing tinnitus for 24 some months too. It’s quieted down since getting off Effexor as well. Still so annoying only in right ear. Feels like back window in car is rolled down and my ear is being succumbed to that annoying pressure and pulses with the pressure. I hear thumps and ringing at the same time. Started day I CT

I’m really glad I saw this thread had been bumped with activity.  I posted 2 years ago!  How time flies!  I’m five years out now and still have the pulsing, although it is much lower now.  It’s leaving at a snail’s pace apparently, must it is much improved over 2017.

Ggbtd,

I don’t know what led you to conclude this is serious.  I have actually read up on this condition for years and all the information I have gathered is that pulsatile tinnitus is quite benign.  It is a symptom like all the rest (assuming you got it from benzo use or withdrawal) and it will leave when you are completely healed.  Whatever you get from benzos, will leave once the recovery ends.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for contributing your posts and easing our fears this is just a symptom that some people get and is no more sinister than the rest of the weird symptoms that are part and parcel of this journey.

Sofa, you’re the bomb.

The reason he thinks it’s serious is because he, like me, googled it. Not a good idea. Google says it’s like so lethally dangerous and doesn’t touch upon benign possibilities

However I found something called somatosensory pulsatile tinnitus. Have you heard of this? I think that’s the subtype we all possibly have which is benign. It’s caused by damage to neurons which makes so much sense considering I CT’d.
