Hi guys,  ever since I started tapering off benzos and quit I've been feeling very very afraid of going out. ..even if it's to the groceries or around the block.  I get panic attacks.. this never happened prior to benzos. Is this withdrawals? Will it get better?  I'm on month 6 from klonopin. I jumped at 0.03mg on March,  thanks

Yes! This is a common withdrawal symptom. I have it too and it will pass once you've recovered.

I have also been dealing with this. I recently have started to be able to go to the store and such in short bursts. I have been somewhat forcing myself in a way to confront the fear as I was getting very afraid that this was going to be my new norm. Although it is still somewhat uncomfortable this past week has been better. I'm 4.5 months off .5 Xanax daily for 6 months.

Peace

i never had agoraphobia either but at times its paralyzing.  i used to chair huge national conferences and travel all over the world..... so - this was NOT an issue for me, ever, pre benzo WD.  unreal how this can create issues that never existed..... and how consistent it is in terms of what it does to people...... really really tough stuff

I have been getting this so badly. Ive barely left my house in weeks. How long does it take post withdrawal to start to feel more comfortable with the outside world?? Its like a sensory overload at the moment!!

I knowww!! I'm wondering the same thing. I have such an irrational fear to doing the things I used to love doing, like going to school or on dates with my girl ):!

Mines went away sometime during the 3rd month and then it came back

I have had this for 19 months but it became disabling at 13 months. But I don't know if it's agoraphobia or more sensory overload mixed with dizziness when I try. Anyway, hope we all get a break soon.
