Migraines and fainted today - Thoughts?

I've been doing well but seem to have hit a wall, which is obviously not unusual.  Been having migraines for several weeks.  I'm down to 4  .125 klonopin and 2 - 2mg diazepam daily sort of following the Ashton guidelines.  The headaches are debilitating. I've not made a cut in several weeks - in fact increased by adding the Valium because of the headaches.  They seem to start when I'm due or past due for a dose.  My blood pressure has also dropped on a number of occasions. It seems like there may be a connection but I'm not sure. Have been addressing BP meds and Losartan to try to keep BP stable.

Today I was in a restaurant with my mother when I felt the headache starting.  It came on very quickly and then everything got really distant. I was completely out, I could hear people, but couldn't respond.  I was taken home and slept for several hours.  Feel better now although the headache is still with me but less severe. Talked to my wife and she says my vision is somewhat slurred. Coordination feels fine, played a guitar for a couple of minutes figuring that would be a good test.

My doctor doesn't want me to quit but is reluctantly supporting it.  I know he'll just tell me to ramp my dose back up and forget it.  I can't stay like this; I'm afraid I'm flirting with something serious, but I don't want to give up the ground I've gained over the last few months.  Anyone ever experienced anything like this?  I have read the Ashton literature and am not being lazy.  I really don't feel up to a search right now.  Maybe a little lazy.  Was unaware low BP and migraines go together but there are lots of things I don't know....

musiclover, i came upon your post, unfortunately, I have no experience with multiple benzo (and z drug) concurrent tapers. I did want to respond, though, to get this ticked up to the top of the thread and hope that some other buddies with more appropriate experience will see it and chime in.

You mentioned your doctor's feelings and I hope he/she is in the loop on your latest issues. The big question always is are the symptoms part of w/d or are they representative of a new or otherwise independent condition. What does your doctor say about it?

Finally, don't let this cause any panic or catastrophe thinking. You'll make the right adjustments, stabilize and continue on!

Thanks for the reply.  I haven't sought medical advice about this but priorities have changed.  My mother passed away yesterday.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your mother. I lost mine 4 years ago. I wish you the strength to get through this troubled time.

Musiclover: I'm so very sorry about the loss of your mother.

I have had a "headthing" during my taper.

Not migraine. But one day here at home I got really dizzy, could not talk, was not able to hear what my husband said.

I couldn't move, just zoomed out.

My husband thought I had a stroke so he called an ambulance.

Rushed to the hospital, took all the tests, CT on my head, observed me for hours.

I told them it was benzo withdrawal the docs and nurses said: No it can't be! But it was.

I felt fine after a few hours. But it was comfortable knowing it wasn't a stroke or something else.

Now I'm just afraid I'll get it again  :idiot:

Again, Im sorry about your mother, wishing you the very best.
