Could use some encouraging words ... anxiety about travel causing vomiting

I am leaving on a family vacation tomorrow and have only slept one hour (it's 4:42 a.m. where I am) and have just had some vomiting. Last year I threw up the whole night before vacation (to California, so a cross country trip) and felt terrible the whole time we were away. This is a more manageable trip --- four hours by car for two nights, then on to canada (another two hours) for four nights, but I don't know if I can do it. I took two zofran but still just a mess.

I feel overwhelmed ... I am actually considering cancelling; we will not lose that much $. Part of this whole thing as well is that my son leaves for college in 11 days, so I am just in general not well. I almost updosed a few weeks back but held off. But I don't want to disappoint everyone--how horrible is it if everyone goes back to school and we did nothing for vacation? My friend texted me earlier--have fun and relax with your family, which is the one thing I cannot figure out how to do. How do you relax?

Sometimes I feel so ashamed by how overwhelmed I feel always. If anyone has any words of wisdom, I would greatly appreciate them. I so want to be able to do things without fear of getting sick. I am so very, very tired of this all.

I feel overwhelmed constantly. I could not travel right now, and I am trying to accept this. It is the hardest dose of acceptance I have ever been given. Try to be kind to yourself. Normal life will come back, but you may not be able to force it right now. Listen to you most compassionate inner voice.

I had similar situation 3 weeks back. I was almost canceling but decided to go and later on I was happy to go. Do you need to drive? If not maybe then you can arrange it relaxing for you and arrange rest time everyday during the travel and then it might be doable. In my case travel lift my overall feeling afterwards.

My husband really wants me to go, feels as if I will regret if we go, but may cancel second leg of trip and come home early and do things locally in NYC that we never do (as opposed to driving to Montreal). We'll see. I traveled in the fall but did not have the my son is leaving for college in 12 days panic I have now. Should have planned the trip for another time.

Thank you for your kind words.
